From humble beginnings...

1976

Business started in Brierley Hill

The Bevan story began when Ron Bevan founded
a bodybuilding company to serve the needs of rapidly
expanding freight transport industry.

1979

Relocated to larger premises in Oldbury

Three years of rapid growth and full order
books resulted in a need for greater capacity.
We haven’t slowed down since.

1988

Relocated to an independent site in
Blakeley Hall Road, Oldbury

Another great leap forward saw us move to
our own site, where we set up our facilities to
provide exactly what our customers needed.

Through steady growth and acquisition...

2003

Set up external paintshop

The time was right to focus on specialities and
increase our capacity further still. Our external
paintshop was the ideal solution.

Launched Bevan Aftercare

We brought together our comprehensive portfolio
of support services to create Bevan Aftercare.

2004

Acquired Welford Thomas

We continued our expansion by purchasing body
repair and paint specialist Welford Thomas. It was
the first of a series of major acquisitions.

2005

Set up external repair centre

Another major investment helped us to increase the
capacity of our repairs service and help more
customers to stay on the road.

2006

B21 LAUNCH

A breakthrough in fuel efficiency and intelligent design, the Bevan21
box body applied aerodynamic principles to commercial vehicles.

Innovative design

The Bevan21 reduces wind resistance while maintaining cubic load volumes, with features including a curved roof and a specially moulded air deflector and cab collar.

Fuel cost savings

The design is capable of achieving fuel savings of up to 15% (independent test of 11 tonne version) and boosts mpg performance on multi-drop runs.

Green targets

The Bevan21 is helping many commercial vehicle operators to achieve their carbon reduction targets, including major names such as AG Barr and Argos.

Purchased second manufacturing
facility on Amber Way, Halesowen

With demand for our bodies and vehicle services increasing, we
responded by increasing our output and investing in the
latest technology.

2009

Purchased PG Reeves

Another step forward saw us moving into the drinks
transport sector, producing specialist vehicle bodies for
multi-drop deliveries.

ICON LAUNCH

Environmental credentials for commercial vehicles don’t come much higher
than those of the light-weight, fuel-efficient Bevan ICON.

Cutting edge

Designed for the fast-growing home delivery sector, the ICON employs advanced technology developed in partnership with Cranfield University and Hatcher Components.

Lean and green

Market-leading 1,200+kg payload for maximum productivity and a sleek, aerodynamic design to reduce costs by boosting fuel efficiency, as well as cutting carbon emissions.

Feature packed

Aerodynamic cab deflector and collar system; tail-lift compatibility; lightweight shutter with maximum security lock; ‘plug and play’ lighting with LED interior light.

Set up Bevan Graphics

Demand for our vehicle livery services grew to such an
extent that Bevan Graphics was born as an expert
department with the latest equipment.

2013

Introduced Safe-T-Drop

We launched our safety system for dropside bodies, winner of an innovation award for Saint-Gobain in Paris.

Patnership with A&R

By joining with the leading accident repair and refurbishment specialist, we secured our place as an industry leader.

Purchased Supertrucks

We added another string to our bow by acquiring Supertrucks, the UKís most respected manufacturer of glass-carrying vehicle bodies.

2015

Aftercare Response

In 2015, we have taken Aftercare response to new
heights; we have launched a brand new interactive
one page website, achieved an 18% increase in
emergency breakdown enqiurie since last year,
increased our number of mobile engineers in the
UK to 38 and ultimately reached a greater audience
of people an businesses.

Complete Graphics

Our design and application service Complete
Graphics makes your brand identity perfect every
time, so we decided to reflect its cutting edge
services with the launch of an interactive and highly
visual new website

Bevan Specialist Products (BSP)

Bevan Specialist Products (BSP) is our most recent
endeavour providing vehicle bodywork for any
purpose, any time to local authorities, including
councils and highways, throughout the UK.

2016

Bevan Group 40th Anniversary

We proudly celebrated our hard work over the last 40 years. We have continually
invested in the latest technology and have grown to offer eight core services that
are businesses within them selves. Our future as a business looks very exciting and
we can't wait to take Bevan to new heights for many more years to come.

Moved to new Wednesbury One
headquarters

To further our industry leading services, we moved to smart and
spacious new headquarters in Wednesbury. Ideally located close to
Junction 9 of the M6, the new base comprises a 17,000 sq ft factory
and 5,000 sq ft of offices.

2017

Full control of A&R Vehicle Services

We achieved our goal of taking full acquisition of one of the country’s top accident repair and refurbishment specialists, and a supplier to some of the UK’s best-known operators of trucks, trailers, buses and vans.

Relocated our specialist products division

With the demand for our specialist products bodies ever increasing we relocated the team to our six-acre A&R site.

Multi Award Winning

We were announced winner for Most Innovative in Vehicle Body Manufacturing Solutions
– UK at the Corporate LiveWire Innovation & Excellence Awards 2018.

The celebrations continued as we become the first winner of a prestigious new award for
commercial vehicle bodybuilders – Bodybuilder of the Year.
