We are currently looking for a skilled / semi-skilled commercial vehicle engineer to join our highly skilled and knowledgeable Bevan Motor Bodies team.
Applicants must have experience of commercial vehicle body construction including dropsides, curtain-sides and box bodies.
Skills:
- Experience in welding is advantageous but not essential, successful applicants will be trained accordingly
- Experience of working with a range of commercial vehicle bodies
- Ability to use a variety of tools and equipment
- Basic mathematical skills and mechanical aptitude
- Ability to work under minimal supervision and to deadlines
- Understanding dimensional drawings and specifications
- Maintaining accuracy and coordination
- Good self-starter with the ability to multi-task
- Ability to work well as part of a team and also under your own initiative, when required
- Committed to high levels of quality work output
Duties and responsibilities:
- Deliver quality work in good timescales, working to manufacturer’s guidelines and technical drawings
- Maintain a clean and tidy work area and ensure all tooling and specialist equipment is tested and compliant in line with company policy
- Comply with the company's health and safety rules and regulations and ensure the correct PPE is worn/used throughout
- Adhere to health and safety standards and policies
Hourly rate in accordance with experience. 38 hours per week over 4 days Monday – Thursday (7am – 5pm) with overtime offered on Fridays and Saturdays, subject to contracts going through production.
